You brought back a memory of a favorite News from Lake Woebegone, in which a Spring garden is described as something very prim and proper, and a Summer garden is described in terms of an orgy, where everything is on intertwined with everything else and, rather than standing up straight, they are all lying down along the ground and each other. It was funny, but more than 17 syllables. V
happy to be compared to Keillor, but one thing that always strikes me about gardens this time of year is how things are dying -- even the tomato vines are starting to wither, even as they produce fruit. A little memento mori here at the orgy.
