An excellent, slightly scary photo, relevant because we have seen two dead or dying rats near or on our bad neighbor's property. Shudder.
It was a strange thing to see on a sunny Sunday in a much-trafficked area of Berkeley. I think there are enough stray cats around my house to keep the rodent population down, though unfortunately they can't do anything about the bad neighbors.
