Haiku 92

Tender pale green leaves!
Did the soft pink blossoms fall
While I glanced away?

*******

Bright pink splashed on green:
It's the first rose of summer,
Nodding to no one

  1. There is all that color again. I take my walk at Heather Farms Park in Walnut Creek and there is indeed a profusion of pink, white, and every shade of green that you can imagine. I should add that the roses are not even blooming yet.

  2. I was a little surprised to see a rose, especially since my garden is fairly shady and so tends to bloom a bit later than others. But there it was. I guess I didn't cut that rose bush back as severely as I usually do.

  3. 92 is an ode to the cherry blossoms here. That were here, I should say.

  4. Just yesterday I was thinking about seeing the cherry blossoms with you, and that cop who almost gave us a ticket. . .
Isn't it kind of early for them to be already gone? But I guess that's the point, as I am supposed to know.
By the way, I don't know when you started reading the daily haiku, but did you see #42?

  5. I just traveled back in time, and it made me think of Ezra Pound, most of all.

  6. Oh, Ezra. I always think of him when I hear the word "metro." And also when I think of the expression "penny-wise, Pound-foolish."
